Next weekend at all the Sunday Masses there will be a retiring collection for the CAFOD Pakistan Floods Parish Appeal. All of us are aware of the tragic events occurring in that country and I know you will be as generous as you can. Have a good and safe week.

This weekend we have the annual retiring collection for the Plymouth Catholic Children's Society

Catholic Children's Society appeal 29th Aug - Gift Aid. For those who gift aid, there are envelopes at the back, for completion in full. Please put in one of the collection plates as you leave next Sunday.

Mass - for the sick and housebound including the anointing of the sick, Saturday 11th September 2.30 p.m. Refreshments served in the parish rooms after the celebration. All welcome.

Christians Together in Torquay - Meeting in our parish rooms 7.30 Wed 15th Sep. Talk ''Reflections on Ecumenism'' by Simon Taylor. Meeting will include AGM. All welcome. See poster for full details.

First Communion 2011 - First meeting for parents and catechists, Thursday 16th September at 6p.m. in the parish rooms at church. First meeting for children and parents Thursday, 23rd September at 6p.m. in the parish rooms at church.

RCIA - Journey in Faith - For those non-Catholics interested in learning more about the church or thinking about becoming a Catholic, enquiry evening Friday 24th September 7.00 p.m. in St Joseph's parish room. The evening will be informal and there are no obligations at this stage, just a warm welcome.

RCIA: - Sharing the journey - a training day for catechists & those interested in RCIA. September 25th at St Nicholas School, Exeter. See notice in porch for details. Booking form available from Fr Brian.

Parish Annual General Meeting - Sun 26th Sept after the 10.30 Mass. Lunch will be served in the parish rooms before the meeting,

Help for Heroes - The CWL are holding a fundraising event in the Church on Sat 2nd Oct at 11.00 a.m. Cost £5 including lunch. See posters in porch & at the back of church for details. Tickets on sale soon.

A Marriage Preparation Day for couples intending to marry, will be held on Sat 9th October 2010, at Stoodley Knowle Convent Torquay. The course is delivered by Marriage Care and concentrates on three main areas - communication, commitment and conflict resolution. Magnificat Booklet - Available at the back of the church free of charge. This booklet contains the texts of the times of public prayer that Pope Benedict will take part in, along with a series of brief articles which help explain something of the context of the prayer and other events of the Papal visit. It also includes texts for the liturgy of the Church Morning and Evening prayer and the Mass for some days before and after the Papal Visit. Those attending any of the Papal liturgies are urged to take this booklet with them. It is intended to serve as their participation aid.
